Support our Holiday Assistance Project:
The mission of the Sunshine Prevention Center is to empower youth to make healthy choices, prevent or reduce substance abuse and violence, and build and strengthen connections between families, schools and communities.
Job loss, homelessness, addiction, divorce and many other challenges can make this time of year tough for many families. Sunshine is working with the local schools, businesses and communities to provide support for families during this season.
There are many ways that you can help make this time of year a little brighter for these families.
- Food Drive (donation of non-perishable items, grocery store gift cards)
- Toy & Gift Drive (toys for younger children, gifts for teens and adults)
Gift Card donations - “Adopt a Family” (we will provide you with family names, ages and gift ideas and you do the shopping)
- Clothes donations, blankets, PJ’s or other items are always needed
- Financial donations are always accepted to support Sunshine
If your family is in need:
Our priority are the families involved at Sunshine and if we are able to, we will also assist families referred by the agencies we work closely with. If the family is being helped by other sources, please do not recommend them to Sunshine.
Here at Sunshine, we understand that many different circumstances can make the holidays difficult for families: divorce, homelessness, food insecurity, work or school challenges, substance use, and more can place extra burdens on so many of us, renewing the depth of our commitment to help as many families as possible. Whether a family is struggling financially or is just overcome with responsibilities and burdens, Sunshine can help!
The ability to assist families depends on our supporters. Again, our priority focuses on the families currently involved at Sunshine. This is based on the support we receive. If we are unable to help, we will do our best to help or provide other resources to those families in need.
